Overview for Aged Care Workers

Workers in this occupational group work primarily in Residential Aged Care Facilities under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual's personal care and/or other activities of living. These workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.

Career Path to Endorsed Enrolled Nurse/Bachelor of Nursing

Learning Outcomes

* Basic understanding of the operations of the Aged Care Facility
* Basic understanding of the operations of providing Home Care
* Provide Personal Care
* Senior First Aid Certificate

This training program includes a compulsory forty (60) hours of work placement as part of the qualification requirements. Each student will be required to undertake a Police Record Check in order to complete work placement for this course.
